The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to strengthen its campaigns for the upcoming municipal elections. The party’s star campaigners will do more than 1,000 ward-centric meetings before the polls.

AAP Delhi in-charge Ashish Talwar said the focus of the party’s campaigns would be city- and ward-centric.

“We know that the people of Delhi want to hear about solutions to their day-to-day problems. Also, the civic elections are highly localised and we will be holding ward wise meetings,” Mr. Talwar said.

He said the party’s campaign was already under way and that senior leaders including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Dilip Pandey, Rakhi Bidlan, Rajendra Gautam and others were conducting meeting in various wards to discuss the problems of voters. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will also start his campaigns from Burari constituency on March 31.

Gauging voters’ mood

The campaign teams are also assessing the mood of the voters though surveys, projector shows, and door-to-door campaigns.

“In January 2015, some media organisations went agog with stories about 300 BJP MPs and Ministers campaigning for them in Delhi. The BJP is repeating the mistakes of 2015,” a party source said.
