A 42-year-old businessman was allegedly carjacked at gunpoint by four unidentified men in Dwarka late on Sunday, the police said on Tuesday. The incident happened near a five-star hotel in Dwarka Sector 13.
Meeting cancelled
Kirti Nagar resident Prem Malhotra was on the way to meet a client regarding sale of a property in Gurugram on Sunday when the meeting got cancelled.

Mr. Malhotra had reached Sector 18 in Dwarka when he received a call from the client and decided to have dinner at a five-star hotel in Sector 13 there.
Car boxed in
He stopped his car near the main road to relieve himself and was about to leave when a white hatchback stopped in front of his. The driver of the white car reversed to box Mr. Malhotra’s vehicle in from the front, even as another hatchback came a halt behind the victim’s SUV.

“The incident happened at 11.20 p.m. My vehicle was boxed in by two cars belonging to the carjackers. One of them walked towards me and asked me for the car keys. He held a gun to my head and threatened to shoot me if I resisted,” the victim stated in his complaint to the police.
Leave one car behind
The carjackers fled the spot in one of the hatchbacks and Mr. Malhotra’s SUV. They left the vehicle used to box in his car from behind.
“They also took away my iPhone, ₹40,000 and house keys — all of which were inside the car. I called the police control room with the help of a passer-by,” Mr. Malhotra added.
A PCR van reached the spot after the incident was reported, the police said.
“An FIR under IPC Section 392 [robbery] has been registered at Dwarka North police station. We are in touch with Haryana Police to get details of the hatchback left behind by the carjackers. There are no CCTV cameras near the spot. The case is under investigation,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse.
