A 35-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) constable was shot at by a group of men on Thursday morning in Greater Noida’s Jarcha, the police said, adding that personal enmity is suspected to be the motive behind the attack.
According to police, Gyanendra Singh, who is posted in Chhattisgarh, was home on a 15-day leave. He is a resident of Cholas Ki Madhaiya village.
He sustained a bullet injury in abdomen and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to Noida’s Kailash Hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.

Fight over machine
The constable’s brother claimed six men entered his house and attacked him around 8 a.m. on Thursday.
“Six men entered in the house and attacked me. Gyanendra came to my rescue and got shot. The fight happened over a machine used for harvesting,” alleged Mr. Dinesh Singh.

According to the police, Mr. Dinesh Singh rents out the machine by the hour to farmers in the village.
“Chandrapal, a farmer, had rented the machine about a week ago and allegedly did not return it. Since another farmer wanted the machine, Mr. Dinesh Singh brought it from his house. This allegedly left Mr. Chandrapal and his son Mithlesh Teotia embarrassed,” said Jarcha Station House Officer Shailendra Pratap Singh.
The complaint by the constable family’s names Shripal, Akash, Mr. Teotia, Rishipal and Satish as the attackers. The two parties got into an argument before the shooting on Thursday morning, and Mr. Dinesh Singh allegedly attacked Mr. Chandrapal.
Both parties have filed counter complaints and cases have been registered. “The incident is being investigated,” Mr. Shailendra Pratap Singh added.
