Book questions Kandhamal

May 11, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:08 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar released a book titled ‘Who killed Swami Laxmanananda?’ on Thursday, which claims to expose fraud and the travesty of justice in Kandhamal.

“What moved me was the human tragedy of seven innocent Christians being battered by saffron mobs in Kandhamal, being illegally detained and chained together for 40 days [and then let-off] after being accused of killing the Swami. I decided that these voiceless people have to have their stories told,” said journalist-author Anto Akkara.

Mr. Akkara, through his book, claims to have taken the lid off one of the biggest frauds in the nation’s history — the murder of Swami Laxmanananda on Janmashtami night.
