A day after Aam Aadmi Party volunteers inspected schools in different parts of the city to jot down basic problems, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday announced that it will form its own “monitoring committees” to keep an eye on the activities of the AAP volunteers. The committee will also keep a close watch on the functioning of the government in a bid to prepare a ‘charge sheet’ against the ruling AAP government.
Sources in the Delhi BJP said the instructions to form committees came from the Central leadership and the findings of these committees will be collated and shared with party units in other States where the Aam Aadmi Party intends to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
State BJP chief Vijay Goel questioned the initiative of the ruling AAP government to send out its volunteers to inspect schools. “We heard that volunteers are going into schools. Who are these people?” he asked. “We will form a committee that will keep an eye out on their actions. Whatever wrong done by the AAP will be exposed,” he said. Members of the committee are yet to be decided.

On Wednesday, AAP volunteers visited schools and jotted down notes on various facilities including toilets, security guards, electricity and water supply apart from looking at the building infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Mr. Goel said that the BJP will hold a ‘dharna’ on Friday to highlight the “anti-national” and “anti-people” policies of the AAP government. “Supporting referendum in Kashmir, raising doubts over Batla House encounter and now protecting Congress’ leaders in Delhi from corruption charges are a clear evidence of the opportunism of AAP,” he said. He added that most of the promises made by the AAP are “practically impossible” and has been announced for political gains.
Last month, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Harsh Vardhan said that each BJP MLA will be allotted a specific department and act as a shadow minister. “Sometimes, more than one MLA will shadow a particularly important department to ensure that the government fulfils its responsibilities,” he had said.
