Beheaded body found on DU North Campus

It was stuffed in a bag and spotted by a passer-by

A beheaded body was found in the small hours of Sunday on Delhi University’s North Campus, the police said.

The police control room received a call at 8 a.m. stating that a body stuffed in a bag was found near Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College bus stop.

The black bag was spotted by a passer-by, who informed the police as soon as he saw blood flowing out of the bag.

“The police opened the bag and found a man’s body inside it. The head and limbs of the victim were missing. There were no bullet or stab wounds on the body,” said DCP (North) Nupur Prasad.

In his late 20s

The victim appears to be a man in his late 20s, the police said, adding his clothes were intact.

The police suspect that the victim belongs to a lower income group.

Murder case filed

Ms. Prasad said a murder case has been registered at Timarpur police station.

The identity of the deceased could not be established till Sunday night. Details of the victim have been uploaded on the Zonal Integrated Police Network to identify him.

A police officer said the man was murdered somewhere else and his body was dumped on North Campus to mislead the police.
