Baby still critical, but stable

February 05, 2012 11:21 am | Updated November 17, 2021 12:20 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The two-year-old baby girl abandoned at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences' Trauma Centre here continues to remain in a critical condition though she managed to stay off the ventilator on Saturday.

“She is critical, but her vital parameters have been stable without the ventilator. We are constantly monitoring her condition. The child still has infection in the blood, brain and her chest, but the antibiotics being given to her seems to be working and we are expecting her condition to stabilise. The child, however, continues to be in deep unconsciousness and has suffered serious brain damage,” said a senior doctor at the institute.
