AUD releases first cut-off list

For admission to BA courses; separate cut-off for students from outside Delhi

Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) on Monday released its first cut-off list for admission to merit-based BA courses.

Like previous years, the university issued separate cut-off percentages required for students from the National Capital Territory (NCT) and those from outside the NCT.

The university offers BA (Honours) in Economics, History, English, Political Science, Psychology, Mathematics, Sociology and in Social Science and Humanities.

This year, it has introduced courses in Global Studies, Sustainable Urbanism and in Law, Politics and Society.

For NCT candidates in the general category, the cut-off for economics is 93.5%, English is 92.5%, psychology is 94.75%, mathematics is 88% and history is 90%.

These required scores under the first list are 3-4% lower than some of the Delhi University colleges, providing an opportunity for high scorers looking for a liberal arts education.

Admission under the first list will take place on July 10 and 11. The second list will be announced on July 11. The university has said that it may release up to six cut-off lists.

Apart from reserving seats for students from Delhi, the AUD has a policy that no deserving applicant, as far as possible, will be denied the opportunity of studying due to her/his inability to pay the fees.

For this, a comprehensive fee-waiver policy is adopted. It offers full and partial tuition fee-waivers to students who are in need of support given their economic background. Students with an annual family income of less than ₹6 lakh will be considered for tuition fee-waiver.
