January 23, 2014 11:01 am | Updated May 13, 2016 11:41 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The multi-specialty hospital offers a range of services, including blood tests, X-rays, vaccination, grooming, surgical procedures

People for Animals founder Maneka Gandhi inaugurated a pet care hospital at Yusuf Sarai on Wednesday.

She said animal lovers should give the best possible treatment to their pets.

“Earlier, I used to take sick pets to hospitals meant for human beings if I needed an X-ray done on them. We would take them around 10-11 p.m. to avoid shocking other patients. A lot of people would get their pets when they were at their last stage. When they go to hospitals for routine check-ups, why can’t they do the same for their pets?,” said Ms. Gandhi.

A stop to fraudulent medical practices

Explaining the reason why the city needs such a hospital for pets, Ms. Gandhi said it would put a stop to those claiming to be experts on animals. “The hospital would put a stop to fraudulent medical practices. Quackery needs to be stopped at all cost. We will treat animals using homeopathy.”

The multi-specialty state-of-the-art pet care hospital offers a range of services, including blood tests, X-rays, vaccination, grooming and surgical procedures.
