AAP Twitter trend in support of PM’s wife ‘disappears’

November 24, 2018 01:57 am | Updated 01:57 am IST - New Delhi

The AAP on Friday claimed that its Twitter trend “in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife” disappeared after trending at the third spot.

“The AAP has been highlighting the plight of Jasodaben. To support her cause, the AAP started a Twitter hashtag — #Justice4Jasodaben — at 9 a.m. on Friday,” the party said in a statement.

The AAP claimed the hashtag was trending at the third spot on Twitter at 10.58 a.m., when it suddenly disappeared from India’s trends list. “The AAP is of the view that Twitter blacklisted the trend under pressure from the BJP or the Central government. This is brazen use of power to subvert the freedom of speech of the people of the country,” the party alleged.
