The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) earlier this week asked the media groups that telecast surveys showing the BJP ahead of all other parties to make their raw data public.
With just a week left for the Delhi Assembly elections, a survey on Wednesday predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge as the single largest party in the post-election scenario. The survey placed the AAP on third position after the Congress.
The survey also found BJP’s Harsh Vardhan to be the most preferred candidate for Chief Minister, closely followed by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.

In a mail sent to the media outlast which telecast the survey, the AAP asked about their sampling technique and the method deployed for sampling polling booths within the sampled constituencies.
The AAP’s questions included: “How exactly were the respondents sampled? Were they randomly sampled from the latest electoral rolls or was the selection done by the investigator, following some protocols? How was the raw data converted into vote estimates?”
“What was the profile of the sample in terms of gender, age, education, locality (JJ colony, unauthorised resettlement, DDA flats etc.) and major social groups (SC, minorities, migrants etc.)? How was the vote estimate converted into seat projection? Since there is no electoral history for the AAP, what assumption was employed regarding the spread of its votes across different constituencies?” the party asked.
