Playwright and theatre director Sachin Gupta’s debut film is a romantic comedy set against the vibrant culture and heritage of the Walled City of Delhi.

He says the film starts from the famous lane and then moves on to the lives of those living there. “In the film, we are trying to touch that part of Delhi that has not been explored till now.”

Paranthe Wali Gali will put the focus on Old Delhi, which is a favourite of domestic as well as foreign tourists.

Sachin has roped in Delhi-based actors Anuj Saxena and Neha Pawar for the film.

For Sachin, who has been directing plays in India and abroad for a decade now, the idea behind the film was to capture life in the labyrinthine lanes of the Walled City and to make film buffs realise the historical significance of the place.

The film will portray the Walled City as a colourful place, the haunt of culinary connoisseurs after the authentic Mughal food served there.

Bangalore-based playback singer-cum-actor Vasundhara Das, synonymous with popular songs like It’s the time to Disco and Rabba Rabba , has directed the music of the film.
