Wanted criminal, accomplices held

: The Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a wanted criminal along with his three accomplices. Identified as Salman Tyagi (24), the head of the gang is accused in nine cases of murder, attempt to murder and rape.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said Head Constable Kuldeep Singh on Saturday received an information that Tyagi along with his three associates would come to Dwarka to commit some crime.

“A trap was laid near Golf Course Road, Sector 23-B, Dwarka. The accused arrived in an Alto car, and whipped out a pistol to create terror. They were, however, nabbed. The weapon and six live cartridges were recovered from them,” said Mr. Yadav.

“In 2015, he (Salman) was externed from Delhi for two years. However, he again reorganised his gang and started taking protection money from gamblers,” he said.

Another accused, Rajjudin alias Anna alias Raju, is wanted in two murder cases. “The third accused, Somin alias Irshad, has been arrested in about 20 cases in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh,” Mr. Yadav said.
