Schools shut classes following Swine flu threat

Vishwa Bharati Public School in Dwarka, Heritage Grove Public School in Vasant Kunj and Banyan Tree School at the Lodhi Colony Institutional area were suspended after three students of the schools tested positive for the A(H1N1) virus.

Vishwa Bharati Public School in Dwarka has suspended all classes for two days, Heritage Grove Public School in Vasant Kunj has done the same for a week’s time and the Banyan Tree School in South Delhi has suspended classes only for standard IX for a week’s time, sources in the three schools said today.

As a precautionary measure, the Banyan Tree School administration has also asked students travelling in the bus, in which the A(H1N1) virus infected student travelled, to go on leave for a week.

“We have shut down class IX for a week after being informed that one of the student of this class tested positive for the swine flu virus,” an official with the Banyan Tree School said adding “they have been asked to re-join the school from September 14.”
