Over 200 litres of illicit liquor seized in S.E. Delhi

The Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have unearthed an illegal distillation unit allegedly run by two men in south-east Delhi and recovered 205 litres of illicit liquor.

Baldev Singh (33) and Sonu Singh (20) were arrested on Sunday morning during a raid in an NTPC jungle in Jaitpur following investigations, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Shalini Singh said.

“They were in the process of manufacturing illicit liquor when they were caught,” Mr. Singh said.

Three iron drums, three plastic cans, two tubs, two iron tins, two funnels and two plastic pipes along with raw material used for manufacturing liquor were also seized, she said.

“205 litres of illicit liquor in plastic cans and plastic tubes were seized and raw material for 200 litres was destroyed at the spot,” Mr. Singh said.

Baldev has been previously involved in one case while Sonu, a tailor by profession, was engaged by the former.
