A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs went to meet Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday demanding that he and the Anti-Corruption Branch chief M.K. Meena be made ‘co-accused’ in four cases pertaining to alleged scams during the Sheila Dikshit government, including the water tanker scam.
However, the delegation claimed that the L-G refused to see them and Raj Niwas staff told them that in order to meet Mr. Jung they would need an appointment.
The move comes two days after the ACB chief had said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal may also be quizzed, apart from Sheila Dikshit, in the water tanker scam case, after an FIR was lodged.

Upset with the L-G’s ‘behaviour’, AAP’s Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti said that the party has also approached Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel demanding that the cases be forwarded to the House Committee on petitions, which he said has the power to summon “even the L-G”.
Mr. Bharti claimed that the MLAs were frisked “like terrorists” at the Raj Niwas and were not given an appointment with Mr. Jung though he was present inside the premises.
“He seems to have chosen lunch over the meeting. What are his compulsions? What relations does he have with Mukhesh Ambani’s business house?” Mr. Bharti asked.

'L-G sitting on all cases'
The AAP MLAs, in their letter, accused Mr. Jung of “sitting” on all the cases during the period of President’s rule in Delhi and no action was taken in all the four cases.
“You (L-G Najeeb Jung) have been protecting Dikshit in these four FIRs through your inaction. Mr. Meena, imposed by the Union government as ACB chief, has also colluded with you in this criminal activity. Kindly forward my letter to the ACB with a direction that Mr. Meena and yourself should be made co-accused in these four FIRs,” a letter written by Mr. Bharti said.
