The Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi will organise an Urdu orientation training programme for 40 Urdu teachers, mostly of Government institutions, from Jodhpur district of Rajasthan from June 28 to July 2. The teachers are posted in the upper primary, secondary and senior secondary schools.
The prestigious Central University will be organising the special camp in association with Jodhpur-based Marwar Muslim Educational and Welfare Society, which is running several schools and industrial training centres in the town.
MMEWS programme officer A. J. Khan said on Saturday that the five-day orientation would deal with the methods of teaching Urdu and highlight the correlation of Urdu language, literature and culture with the syncretic traditions of the country, besides improving the pedagogical skills of teachers.

Mr. Khan said the Jamia Millia would also invite some eminent Urdu litterateurs and critics for interacting with the teachers on the scope for development of Urdu in the present socio-cultural context.
The Jodhpur District Education Officer has issued instructions to the Government schools to send their Urdu teachers to the Jamia Millia for taking part in the camp.
