A little over a month after it was relaunched, the Delhi unit of the Janata Dal (United) announced it would contest the upcoming municipal elections from all 272 wards.
The party’s Delhi unit chief Raj Singh Mamn said that the decision was in line with the JD(U)’s intent to expand its base and influence in Delhi.
On December 3 last year, the party had been officially relaunched at a ceremony presided over by its national chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

‘False propagand’
Questioning the “false propaganda” of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Delhi government and the BJP-led civic bodies had figured prominently on the agenda during a political workers’ convention of the JD (U), the party said in a statement.
