Income Tax department on Wednesday issued notice to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following allegations of the party receiving Rs. 2 crore donation from "dubious" sources.
The AAP Volunteer Action Manch (AVAM), a splinter group of the AAP, had alleged that the party received Rs. 2 crore in four equal instalments from companies registered in Delhi slums and having the same set of directors.
According to AVAM, the party accepted four donations of Rs.50 lakh each exactly at 12 a.m. on April 5, 2014.
