Ms. Dikshit said the collaboration between the Department of TTE and Bharti Walmart would go a long way in helping and defining the vision of skill development for increasing the employability of the youth in Delhi. As per the terms of agreement, Bharti Walmart will establish Bharti Walmart Skill Centers at the Vir Savarkar Basic Training Centre to provide free training to all students enrolling there.

All expenses on the training will be borne by Bharti Walmart which will also provide all administrative and support services at its own cost. It will also work towards ensuring that the trainees get decent wages on successful completion of training. The training will be imparted between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on all working days and from 9-30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The ownership of the classrooms and facilities will remain with the Government which will provide complete autonomy to Bharti Walmart to modify the syllabus as per the industry requirement from time to time.

The institutions will also be allowed to increase the existing courses subject to availability of enough built-up space with them. However, they would not be allowed to carry out new construction for adding new courses or increasing the intake of existing courses.
