Constable, two others injured in Rohini encounter

Three persons, including a Delhi Police constable, sustained bullet injuries in an encounter between police and a group of alleged criminals in Outer Delhi’s Rohini late Saturday night. Five people have been arrested in the operation, police said.

“There was an encounter between a police team and a group of criminals at Rohini Sector 24 in which one of our men Pradip sustained bullet injury in the thigh, while two criminals Sudhir and Vijay were also injured,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikramjit Singh.

The police team comprised of staff from Sultanpuri police station. The encounter, which began late on Saturday night, continued till the early hours of Sunday. The arrested persons have been identified as Sanjay, Farman, Sunny, Sudhir and Vijay, the official said.

The incident happened just a day after another Delhi Police constable was shot dead in Shahbad Dairy, which is also an Outer Delhi area.
