BJP leader Jagdish Mukhi sends notice to AAP convener

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Jagdish Mukhi served a legal notice on Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday, saying the AAP projected him as the chief ministerial candidate of the BJP and used his photograph in its election campaign.

The AAP has been running a poster campaign on autorickshaws showing pictures of Mr. Mukhi and Mr. Kejriwal, and asking voters to choose who they wanted between the two to be the next chief minister of Delhi.

“Mr. Kejriwal must withdraw the posters from three-wheelers and on YouTube. If Mr. Kejriwal does not do it, legal proceedings against him shall be initiated in the appropriate court,” Mr. Mukhi said.

Mr. Mukhi said it was the prerogative of the BJP’s top leadership, and not Mr. Kejriwal’s, to decide who the chief ministerial candidate of the party should be.

An AAP spokesperson, however, said his party had increased the stature of Mr. Mukhi by showing him as the chief ministerial candidate and he should be happy about it rather than be upset.
