16-year-old gang-raped in moving car

Victim alleges that one of the accused is her relative; manhunt on for three

A 16-year-old girl alleged that she was gang-raped in a moving car by a group of men which included one of her relatives last week in Greater Noida, the police said on Monday.

All the three alleged accused are absconding and efforts are on to nab them, the police said.

The victim, a student of Class XI, has mentioned in her complaint that the incident took place on April 18, when she was walking home, the police said.

Missed school bus

“She had missed her school bus and so decided to walk back home. Few minutes later, she was approached by three persons — her distant relative , a Class fellow and an another boy. They offered to drop her home after which she got inside their car,” a senior police officer said.

Laced drink, dumped

Following this, the trio stuffed a cloth into her mouth and took turns to rape her, he added. Then they forced her for a laced drink after which she fell unconscious.

“When the victim did not return home, her parents reported the matter to the police. She was recovered from a secluded road near Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology in Knowledge Park at around 2 a.m. in an unconscious state,” the officer added.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital and later discharged after a first aid.

Based of the complaint filed the victim’s father and the statements recorded, a case under Sections 376D (gang-rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act [POSCO] were registered against the accused,” the officer said.
