Driver critical; school blames lack of steetlights for mishap

Sixteen students, a school bus driver and a conductor, were injured on Saturday when the vehicle rammed a pillar at Rajnigandha Chowk underpass on Saturday morning.

The police said the bus driver, Ganga Saran, is said to be critical.

The accident happened at 7.30 a.m. when the private school bus hit a pile of construction material lying on the roadside at Rajnigandha underpass, said an eyewitness. The driver then lost control and hit the pillar. Halogen lamps were installed at the spot but none of them were working at that time, the school alleged.
