12 hurt as tempo overturns near Kashmere Gate

Around twelve people received minor injuries when a tempo they were travelling in overturned in North-Delhi’s Kashmere Gate on Monday night.

A case of negligence has been registered under the tempo driver. He was arrested from the accident spot.

According to the police, the incident took place after the driver lost control over the front wheel and the vehicle skid while taking a turn in front of the Kashmere Gate bus stand.

The mishap took place around 8 p.m. on Monday. Some passersby made a call to the police control room and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. None of the passengers received serious injuries.

“All the passengers were discharged from hospital after first-aid,” said a police officer. The passengers were heading back home in Timarpur after Saraswati pooja. “They were people belonging to the same family or neighbours,” the officer added.
