Suguna’s mother Shanthi who came to know about these lodged a complaint against Rajeshwari.Selvapuram Police arrested the woman and lodged her in jail, before she was granted bail. After the trials concluded, the judge M.P. Subramanian asked her to pay compensation of Rs. 25,000 each of the two boys immediately (on Wednesday) or to be imprisoned for six months.

Public Prosecutor R. Sarojini said that Rajeshwari made a request for time to pay the money as she did not have Rs. 50,000 in her hand, when the judgment was pronounced on Wednesday evening. Mr. Subramanian hence asked her to pay it before the court at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The two boys are now with their grandmother Shanthi.
