Ukkadam flyover work: traffic diversion from today

Buses, light medium vehicles, two-wheelers from Ukkadam to Podanur and Kuniyamuthur exempted from diversion

The police have placed traffic diversion plan for Ukkadam flyover works at different parts of city which will be effective from Sunday.

The traffic diversion to facilitate Ukkadam-Aathupalam flyover works will come into effect from Sunday.

All heavy vehicles to Pollachi from Tiruchi road should take Nanjudapuram road from Ramanathapuram junction to reach Podanur and further proceed to Sarada Mill Road instead of using Sungam-Ukkadam bypass. Vehicles from Tiruchi Road to Palakkad should also take the same route (Nanjundapuram road) from Ramanathapuram junction to reach Podanur and further proceed to Aathupalam via Kadai Veedhi.

Similarly, all heavy vehicles from Avinashi road to Pollachi and Palakkad must pass via Lakshmi mills junction, Ramanathapuram, Nanjundapuram and Podanur before taking Sarada Mill road to Pollachi and Kurichi pirivu to Palakkad.

Heavy vehicles from Palakkad road to Ooty, Mettupalayam and Thadagam must take diversion at Kovaipudur Pirivu and pass via Kulathupalayam, Santhi Ashram School junction, Puttuvikki road, Sivalaya junction and Ponnaiahrajapuram to reach Thadagam road.

All heavy vehicles from Palakkad road to Avinashi Road and Tiruchi road should take Podanur road and pass via Nanjundapuram to reach Ramanathapuram junction and proceed to their destinations. Similarly, heavy vehicles from Pollachi road to Ukkadam have to take Sarada Mill road to reach Podanur and follow the above route.

All heavy vehicles from Pollachi road to Ooty, Mettupalayam and Thadagam must go via Aathupalam, Puttuvikki Road opposite to Kuniyamuthur high school, Sivalaya junction and Ponnaiahrajapuram to reach Thadagam road.

All buses, light medium vehicles, two-wheelers from Ukkadam to Podanur and Kuniyamuthur are exempted from the diversion. While movement of heavy vehicles are restricted from Ukkadam to Lorry Pettai, Karumbukkadai and Aathupalam junction between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., mini goods carriers are exempted from the restriction.
