Twelve teachers from Coimbatore chosen for Best Teacher Award

A total of 12 teachers from the Government, aided and private schools in Coimbatore district have been chosen for the State Government’s Dr. Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award for the year 2012-13.

The awardee in the matriculation category is Latha Venkatesan, Principal of Sri Raman Chettiar Memorial Matriculation School; awardees in secondary education category are N. Kumaran, teacher at Thambu Higher Secondary School, T. Ravichandiran, Headmaster of Sudenthira Higher Secondary School, T.M. Manimekalai, Headmaster of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Kottur and M. Athimoolam, teacher at Government Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary School.

In the elementary education category, the awardees are A. Kalaivani, teacher, Panchayat Union Middle School at Kalampalayam, N. Saraswati, Headmaster of Panchayat Union Primary School at Ramapalayam near Sirumugai, K. Kalaiselvi, Headmaster of Panchayat Union Middle School at Chenjeri, K. Pareez Begum, Headmaster of Panchayat Union Middle School at R. Ponnapuram, S. Marimuthu, Headmaster of Panchayat Union Middle School at Achipatti and T.M. Subbalakshmi, Headmaster of Panchayat Union Middle School at Chikalampalayam besides A. Chandira, Principal of Government Girls Teacher Training Institute on Raja Street.

The awards will be presented in Chennai on September 5.
