The Coimbatore City Police has announced the following traffic diversions in the city on Tuesday (September 2), in view of the seven major processions in which Vinayaga idols will be taken for immersion on that day.
The traffic diversions for vehicle users will be as follows:
Vehicles from Ukkadam to Tiruchi Road will be diverted through the Ukkadam Bypass Road, from Ukkadam to Mettupalayam through Oppanakara Street, V.H. Road and fly over and through all other roads from there other than Brooke Bond Road.

Brooke Bond Road can be used after the procession that would start from Sivanandha Colony has crossed that road. Vehicles from Thadagam Road to the city will be diverted through N.S.R. Road, Mettupalayam Road, A.R.C. Junction and Sivanandha Colony.
Those from Marudhamalai Road can go to Mettupalayam Road through Thadagam Road, G.C.T. College Junction and Avinashilingam College.
And, from Perur to Coimbatore city through Perur Bye Pass and Ukkadam; from Gandhi Park to D.B. Road through Avinashi Road Fly Over.

Lorries will not be allowed to enter the city from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on that day.
Processions of the Vinayaga idols through seven different routes will end at Muthannan Tank.
The first procession will begin from Raja Street and pass through Uppara Street, Thomas Street, R.G. Street, Sukrawarpet, T.K. Street, Edayar Street, Karuppa Gounder Street, Vysial Street, Sullivan Street, Gandhi Park, Subramaniam Road and Venkitakrishna Road to Thadagam Road.
The second procession will be from the Vysial Street and Sullivan Street Junction through Big Bazaar Street before it takes the above said route from Raja Street. The third procession is from Big Bazaar Street to Muthannan Tank.
The fourth procession will begin from R.S. Puram through Light House Road, D.B. Road, Flower Market, R.G. Street, and will reach Sukrawarpet.
The fifth procession is from Theppakulam Ground through Lingappa Chetti Street, V.C.V. Layout, Devangapettai Road and Flower Market before taking the fourth route.
The sixth procession will begin from Sivanandha Colony through 100-feet-road, Sheela Hospital, Cross Cut Road, North Coimbatore, Chinthamani, Brooke Bond Road, Devangapettai Road and Flower Market before taking route four.
The seventh procession will be from Uzhavar Sandhai on Cowley Brown Road to through Punniyakodi Street, Periyasami Street and Thadagam Road.
