Over 60,000 allottees of the Tamizhaga Veetu Vasathi Varia Orunkinaintha Othukeetalargal Nala Sangham have called for a general body meeting on February 1 to decide on whether to opt for NOTA (None of the above) option in the electronic voting machines in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
According to K. Jayachandran, State general secretary of the Sangham, people who opted for Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) sites and houses in Ganapathy have been waiting for the last 22 years for the sale deed. Even after remittance of dues, the sale deed has not been given.
Owing to administrative lapses in dealing with land acquisition litigations, the housing board had incurred enormous loss and it was trying to pass on the burden to the allottees by levying them additional cost, interest for the cost difference and penal interest. TNHB should waive all interests as recommended by the high level committee and as ordered by the High Court and Supreme Court. It was time that the TNHB represented the true facts to the Government.

The Sangham would discuss all the issues at the meeting to be held at Thomas Club behind main telephone exchange at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
