Professor N. Kumar on Friday took charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. A release from the institution said that Mr. Kumar, a native of Kanyakumari district, holds a doctorate in horticulture, has a 36-year experience in academics and research. He was a former Dean, Horticulture. He had authored eight books and several research papers. Post retirement he had held several positions that included Member, Research Advisory Committee, Central Plantation Crop Research Institute, and Member, Advisory Committee, National Research Centre for Banana.
