TANGEDCO opens information centre in city

Consumers could know of the procedures relating to availing of new or additional service connections and the details of the charges to be paid for these

The Tamil Nadu Distribution and Generation Corporation opened in the city on Saturday an information centre to guide consumers on various procedures relating to power connections, charges and other services.

Chief Engineer, Distribution, Coimbatore, A. Thangavelu opened the centre at the TANGEDCO Office Complex at Tatabad.

TANGEDCO officials said the centre would have the models of the forms for all types of services consumers wanted to avail themselves of. This is the first centre here and more in other circles would be planned.

Consumers could get information on whom to approach and what were the procedures to be followed in sorting out issues relating to service connections or problems in power supply.

They could know of the procedures relating to availing of new or additional service connections and the details of the charges to be paid for these.

The centre had information on all rules and regulations of TANGEDCO. Officials would explain procedure for name transfer (of service connections) and grievances redress. There would be information on energy conservation, electrical safety and prevention of energy theft.

The centre would function on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (except on second Saturdays and on national holidays).
