Thirteen students who have just completed Plus-Two from Thavathiru Santhalinga Adigalar Higher Secondary School in Perur petitioned the District Collector on Monday stating that they were yet to get laptops provided under a scheme of the Government. Students alleged that the school, which had promised to provide them the free laptops once they completed Plus-Two, later refused to do so.

“Many other schools are giving laptops to those who had completed Plus-Two because the laptops reached the schools only after the completion of the examinations. But our school has refused to provide us with the laptops. When, as a Government-aided school, it could give us free bi-cycles, why not the laptops?” they asked.

Kalpana E, studying in a college now, said that 54 students had completed Plus-Two from the school and were supposed to get the laptops.
