Students should not get depressed with failure. They should consider it the stepping stone to success, according to D. Sneha, Assistant Collector (Training), Coimbatore. Addressing the students of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women on Tuesday at the Future India guest lecture series, organised by The Hindu and the KPR IAS Academy, she explained how she prepared for the IAS exams. During her college years, she had interned with a Corporate house and had learnt a lot and also taught Mathematics to students of Class X while volunteering for a Non-Governmental Organisation. She started understanding the diverse problems the country faced and the change needed. Hence, she decided to prepare and appear for the civil services examinations.

Students can be better prepared if they start from the first year of college. Though she failed in her first attempt, Ms. Sneha said she continued to work hard and cleared the examinations.

Ms. Sneha interacted with the students and distributed prizes to the best 10 questions from them. KPD Sigamani, managing director of the KPR IAS Academy, and K. Chitra, principal of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women, were present.
