Smart City project meeting held

The Coimbatore Corporation recently held a meeting on the city’s participation in the Smart City project.

According to a release from the civic body, Mayor P. Rajkumar, who spoke at the meeting held with representatives of non-government organisations, said that the preliminary meeting was to discuss things that could be done to ensure the city’s participation in the project.

In the coming days, the civic body would hold meeting with stakeholders to take their views on implementing the project. In doing so, it must be ensured that the city’s unique characteristics are not lost.

Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan gave a slide show presentation on the features of the Smart City project.

Representatives of various NGOs participated in the meeting.
