Six die in car-bus collision

Six persons, including a Police Inspector’s wife, son and four other teenagers were killed after the car by which they were travelling rammed a government bus on the Mettupalayam-Annur Road in Coimbatore on Saturday morning. The accident occurred between Pogalur and Kurusilayampalayam villages around 9.20 a.m. The car was going from Vellakoil to a water theme park at Mettupalayam. Inspector Manimozhi is with the Anti-Land Grab Special Cell in Tiruchi. His wife M. Malini (41), a school teacher and sons M. Abishek Christuraja (15) and M. Sibiraja (8) were residing at Vellakoil in Tirupur district. On Saturday, Malini, her sons and their cousins S. Arul Sam Benjami (18) and D. Jaswanth (13) of Vellakoil, R. Subash (19), Avalpoondurai in Erode district and J. Daniel (12) of Oddanchatram in Dindigul district were on their way to the water theme park. Arul Sam Benjami, a second year college student, was driving the car.
