Coimbatore Rural Police suspect that the gang that attempted to waylay and rob the cashier of a fuel refilling station in Karamadai on Friday, could have fled to Kerala.

According to sources, the gang after failing to snatch the cash bag from cashier Palanisamy (32) on Friday, got into the car and fled the scene of crime at Pettathapuram towards Karamadai. From there, it could have reached Thimmampatty, Tholampalayam and then Gopanari to reach Attapadi in Kerala.

The police suspect that the gang could have taken the route because of the absence of check posts.
