The construction of the second level of Gandhipuram flyover, restriction on movement of heavy vehicles on first-level flyover, rain, and bad road conditions have together contributed to peak hour traffic snarls on 100 Feet Road, Sathy Road and Dr. Nanjappa Road.
Regular travellers on the stretch say that the main reason for vehicles being lined up on 100 Feet Road was due to heavy movement of vehicles between Dr. Nanjappa Road and Ganapathy. The blocks continue despite the police manually regulating the traffic at Gandhipuram junction and 100 Feet Road-Sathy Road junction.
According to commuters, traffic snarls have became a routine affair on Sathy Road between Dr. Nanjappa Road and Ganapathy following curb on movement of heavy vehicles on the first-level flyover.

This restriction was imposed for three months in April to facilitate the works of the second-level flyover. Less takers for the first level flyover is also another cause for concern.
“With heavy vehicles forced to take the old route via Gandhipuram signal, peak hour traffic blocks have become unavoidable from Dr. Nanjappa Road to Ganapathy. The same block is affecting movement of vehicles from 100 Feet Road to Avarampalayam Road,” said a police official.
