Protest against fleecing by institutions

Members of Social Awareness Movement (SAM) organised a demonstration near the South Taluk Office on Friday, condemning the private schools that are fleecing parents.

The protestors led by the movement’s founder president J.D. Socrates alleged that many private schools lacked basic amenities and took government guidelines for a ride.

They alleged that not all private schools implemented the 25 per cent reservation for children from economically backward families.

Syllabus

Other issues that they condemned were completing the Class X and Plus Two syllabus in the Class IX and Plus One and making education mark-based and not helping students to develop their knowledge. They also condemned the police for registering cases against activist who staged protests to condemn the irregularities by the private institutions. Representatives of a few other organisations participated in the demonstration.
