Programme on child protection for Govt. officials

World Vision India organised a sensitisation programme on child protection for Government officers here on Thursday.

According to a press release, the programme dealt with UN Child Rights Classification including livelihood, development, participation and protection rights, creating a child-friendly environment and various problems faced by children.

Around 110 Officials from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, Child Protection Unit and Labour Department took part.

Issues

Issues such as child trafficking, preventive acts against child exploitation, problems faced by children in distress and child protection laws and regulations were also handled, the press release added.
