Plus Two examinations begin

Plus Two examinations began on Friday in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts.

In Coimbatore, District Collector K. Rajamani inspected the examination centre at R.K. Sree Rangammal Kalvi Nilayam Higher Secondary School, and in Tirupur Collector K.S. Palanisamy inspected the centre at the Jaivabai Corporation Girls' Higher Secondary School.

A release from the Coimbatore district administration quoting Mr. Rajamani said that 36,427 students would be appearing for the examination this year. They included 35,723 students of various schools, 704 private candidates, and 96 differently abled students.

The district had 120 examination centres, 14 examination control centres. Eleven inspection officials, 32 question paper control officials and 126 chief invigilators would monitor the conduct of the examination till March 19. Around 250 flying squad members would conduct surprise inspection at the examination centres, the release said.

Tirupur

A release from the Tirupur district administration quoting Collector Mr. Palanisamy said 25,723 candidates would be taking the Plus Two examination at 82 centres. Eighty-two headmasters and headmistresses had been appointed as chief invigilators to oversee the smooth conduct of the exam.

The Tirupur district administration had formed a flying squad comprising 150 teachers to prevent malpractice, the release added.
