Over 15 snakes rescued in Coimbatore

Members of two voluntary organisations in Coimbatore involved in nature conservation have rescued more than 15 snakes, with eight of them belonging to the most venomous species.

N.I. Jalaludeen and C.V.A. Jaleel of the Nature Conservation Society said that their volunteer A.R. Ameen,during the last two days, had rescued snakes from places such as Jagannatha Nagar in Peelamedu, Kavundampalayam – TVS Nagar, Abirami Nagar in Ganapathy, Vasantham Nagar in Venkitapuram, Kaliappan Street in Sai Baba Colony, Kallimadai in Singanallur, Co-operative Colony in Kavundampalayam, Vadavalli, Nanjundapuram Road, Ukkadam – JK Garden, PKG Nagar in Peelamedu, Anna Nagar in Neelikonampalayam, Segamam, Sri Lakshmi Nagar in Tirupur, Vivekanandar Street in PN Pudur.

K. Rathish of Save Snakes also rescued two cobras at Kamakodi Nagar in Ganapathy.
