The FIITJEE Talent Reward Examination (FTRE), a general aptitude test, was conducted in association with The Hindu In School at the Hindusthan College of Arts and Science on Sunday.
As many as 1,352 students wrote the exam in Coimbatore and more than a lakh all over India, said sources. Students from Standard V to XI appeared for this examination, which was held in two sessions - the first from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and the second from 1.30 p.m. to 4.45 p.m.
“The exam is a useful tool to test the IQ of my son and will help him secure a seat in an IIT”, said S. Daisy Rani, mother of D. Cynil, a Standard XI student.

An open session for all parents was conducted to explain the benefit of taking the examination.
Sourav Mondal, Centre co-ordinator, FIITJEE, said, students, particularly those from the fifth, sixth and seventh classes, will get an exposure to competitive exams by this examination.”
There were 100 questions that tested 20 different concepts.

The students of Standard V and VI appeared in morning session and rest appeared in both the sessions. The result of this examination will be announced by mid-January. The selected students will be provided with scholarships and cash awards.
