Principal District Sessions judge N. Audhinathan on Thursday dismissed the anticipatory bail application of E. Senthil, Councillor (Ward 21) in Coimbatore Corporation Council. The Councillor was accused of sexual abuse of a girl.
Triple murder: one held
The police on Thursday arrested Anand (23), an accused in the triple-murder at Karamadai last Thursday. The police had arrested Sridhar (22) on March 31.On Thursday, the police picked up Anand, when he came to meet his mother.

M. Naganandini, a second year B.Com student was found hanging at her residence in R.S. Puram on Thursday.
The police said that the girl had asked her father to replace her faulty cellular phone with a high-end handset. Irked over the delay in getting her a phone, the girl told her father that she would get some part-time work to buy a phone. Later, she locked herself inside a room.

Infant’s body found
The body of an infant was found abandoned in a bush near Thyagi Sivaram Nagar in Sungam on Thursday.
Complaints galore
More than 500 people turned up at the Economic Offences Wing office here on Thursday to prefer complaint against a multi-level marketing firm. Unable to handle the crowd, the police gave tokens to them asking them to come at the date specified in it.
Already 1.72 lakh complaints have been preferred.
Following a court directive, the police have sealed the houses of Senthilkumar and Vivek, both promoters of the firm, and blocked their bank accounts.
