Bharatiya Janata Party’s Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi’s visit to Coimbatore on Wednesday will boost his electoral prospects, the party’s Coimbatore candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan has said.
Addressing journalists at the meeting venue on Wednesday, he said that the National Democratic Alliance candidates were keen on having a Modi meeting because they were well aware of the very encouraging response from the public. The BJP, unlike others, was not in need of star campaigners and actors to seek votes as Mr. Modi enjoyed a status that was unparalleled.
The candidates of Tirupur, Coimbatore and Pollachi Parliamentary constituencies had represented the region’s problems to Mr. Modi – they had spoken about the need for improving power supply, implementing the Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme, Nallaru-Anamalaiaru scheme, developing the North Coimbatore Railway Junction and other major issues.

Mr. Radhakrishnan said that it was wrong to paint the BJP communal.
In fact, those who levelled such allegations were the ones who had tied up with communal outfits and caste-based organisations.
