Two roads will have uniform width for vehicle movement

The civic body on Saturday inaugurated the model road exhibition at R.S. Puram. The two-day exhibition is aimed at explaining the salient features of the project to the city’s residents, particularly to those on D.B. Road and T.V. Swamy Street where it would take up the implementation.

Commissioner for Municipal Administration G. Prakash inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Nanduri, Director, Internal Finance, Ministry of Urban Development T.K. Majumdar, ITDP Director Shreya Gadepalli and RAAC head C.R. Swaminathan.

Mr. Vijayakarthikeyan said that the two roads would have uniform width for vehicle movement, improvement at junctions for seamless movement of vehicles and pedestrian and enough pavement width for pedestrians.

The Corporation had taken up the two roads first and four more roads - Sanganoor Road, Masakalipalayam Road, Race Course and NSR Road would be taken up later.
