MBA counselling for general category begins

A total of 11,118 candidates have been called for counselling

The general counselling for admission to MBA courses began in Coimbatore on Saturday.

The admission is for management courses in Government, Government-aided and self-financing engineering colleges, and arts and science colleges of Tamil Nadu.

To begin with, special counselling for physically challenged candidates who had cleared the TANCET examination was held on Friday. While 42 candidates were called for, only 34 attended the counselling at Government College of Technology (GCT).

On day one, 602 candidates were called for, out of which 404 attended.

Naveen Karthik K.P. from Coimbatore with a TANCET score of 54.2 chose PSG College of Technology. As the first candidate, he received the allotment letter from GCT principal V. Lakshmi Prabha.

Naveen Kumar K. from Chennai with a score of 52 chose PSG College of Technology. Senthil Kumar P. from Tuticorin and with a score of 51.8 also chose PSG College of Technology.

The general counselling to fill the Government quota in management courses will go on till August 17. A total of 11,118 candidates have been called for the counselling.
