The Department of Public Health has ordered the campaign to coincide with the monsoon rains, according to N. Ragupathy, Deputy Director of Health Services, Tirupur district who is holding additional charge of Coimbatore district.

All the primary health centres and health sub-centres have been instructed to clean up their premises, white-wash their buildings and plant saplings also, wherever adequate space was available, he added.
