The District Crime Branch (DCB) on Saturday arrested S. Senathipathi (44) of Vadavalli on the charges of selling housing sites using forged documents.
According to the police, he was held for offences under Sections 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 464 (Making a false document), 466 (Forgery of record of Court or of public register), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (Using as genuine a forged) of the IPC. The accused was held based on a complaint lodged by the Block Development Officer, Periyanaickenpalayam.
The police said that the accused had sold 10 housing sites to people that were not regularised by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).

When produced before the sixth judicial magistrate court, the magistrate refused to remand the accused and permitted him to go.
Ganja seized
The Peelamedu police on Friday arrested P. Pandi (20) from Thanjavur and B. Muthaiah (33) from Chinniyampalayam and seized 12 kg. ganja from them.

The police also seized a cell phone, ₹3,000 and motorcycle from them.
In a separate incident, the Perur police on Friday arrested P. Ravi (55) from Chetty Street on charges of possessing 1.2 kg of ganja.
The police seized ₹2,300 and a two-wheeler from him.
Man electrocuted
N. Chinnarajan (65), a resident of Santhaipetai Street near Kulathupalayam, was electrocuted after he suffered shock from the digital advertisement board of an optical store on Friday.
Ten injured
Around ten persons were injured when a part of a building under construction near Vinayagapuram collapsed on Saturday.
The police said that the accident occurred when employees were working on the first floor of a building.
The injured were taken to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
