‘Extend quality healthcare service to villagers'

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare S. Gandhiselvan declared open the URC Hospitals, a new multi-speciality physical medicine and rehabilitation facility, here on Sunday.

Interacting with the doctors, the minister urged them to extend quality healthcare services to the people particularly those from the rural areas.

Stating that rehabilitation service was given more importance by the Central and State governments, Mr. Gandhiselvan stressed that the differently abled persons in the society should be given adequate opportunities to lead a decent life and access quality healthcare.

The hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, provides specialised services including nerve conduction study and computerised muscle testing.

Collector R. Sudalaikannan presided over the programme.

Former Minister N.K.K. Periyasamy, Mayor K. Kumar Murugesh, Sakthi Masala Managing Directors P.C. Duraisamy and Shanthi Duraisamy, District Sports Officer V. Karunanidhi, Hospital Managing Director T.S. Chellakumarasamy, Doctors C. Kalpana and T. Vijayakumar were present.
